Our client is a market-leading distributor of specialist allograft and medical devices for orthopaedic and corrective surgery, licensed by the Human Tissue Authority (HTA). The company partners with world-leading tissue banks and offers regulated, high-quality products and instruments while driving innovation in patient outcomes and service excellence. They are now looking to hire an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join their experienced team.

The Supply Chain Manager will lead and optimise end-to-end supply chain operations across procurement, inventory control, order fulfilment, logistics, and supplier management. Supporting with audits and monitoring activities to comply with HTA requirements. This role ensures strategic alignment with organisational goals, regulatory compliance and service excellence, supporting the timely delivery of allograft and medical devices.

This position suits candidates with healthcare supply chain experience, strong analytical and leadership skills, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Build, lead, and develop an effective, highly motivated and cohesive supply chain team.
  • Ensure appropriate training, competency frameworks, and development pathways are in place.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation.
  • Develop and implement robust supply chain strategies that support procurement, inventory optimisation, and logistics.
  • Lead supply chain planning to ensure product availability for surgical and clinical needs without overstocking or waste.
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiency across supply chain processes, systems, and KPIs.
  • Monitor stock levels to balance service levels with cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure storage and handling practices uphold quality standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Responsible for inventory reporting and review cycles with the management team.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, including courier services, and urgent delivery requirements.
  • Lead contingency planning for supply chain disruptions.
  • Provide supply chain insights to support senior leadership decision-making.
  • Ensure that the relevant site is kept in a high standard of working order.
  • Ensuring appropriate maintenance, servicing, and inspection contracts are in place.
  • Proactive management of repairs and maintenance, including access control and security.
  • Managing relationships with the landlord, external contractors and suppliers.
Previous Experience/Qualifications:
  • Proven leadership of a successful team.
  • Qualification(s) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in supply chain or operations management, ideally in healthcare, life sciences, medical devices, or regulated environments.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CSCP, MCIPS).
  • Experience with SAP and supply chain planning tools.
  • Prior experience in a fast-growth SME environment.
Additional Information:

Please note this is a full-time, permanent role working Monday – Friday. 10% annual salary bonus if the company hits target.
