Please note candidates must have current hospital key accounts/sales experience. Our client, based in the UK and Ireland, provides best-in-class genomic next-generation sequencing services to Clinicians, Biopharma and Clinical Research sectors worldwide. Due to unprecedented demand, they are now seeking an experienced Hospital Key Account Manager to cover London and its surrounding areas.

The KAM will be responsible for driving business growth by securing and expanding relationships with private healthcare providers offering Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) and within the private hospitals for other accredited clinical genetic testing services. This role focuses on winning new business in private clinics and private hospitals, building access to key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals (HCPs), laboratory managers, and senior decision-makers. The primary focus is on Oncology and NIPT, with additional opportunity to deliver new business across Neurology, Nephrology, Ophthalmology, and Cardiology.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify, engage, and win new business from private NIPT clinics and private hospitals across the UK.
  • Secure access to and build relationships with key decision-makers, including Consultants, Laboratory Managers, Pathologists, and Hospital Administrators.
  • Develop and execute a territory strategy to achieve commercial targets across priority specialities.
  • Lead commercial discussions and negotiations for new contracts and service agreements.
  • Map and prioritise key accounts with high growth potential in Oncology, NIPT and related specialities.
  • Deliver high-quality educational and promotional meetings to inform HCPs and hospital teams about the company’s genetic testing portfolio.
  • Plan and execute scientific and commercial presentations to drive awareness and adoption.
  • Work collaboratively with the Scientific Team and Marketing to deliver value-added activities and educational events.
  • Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and continuity of service.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, scientific, and laboratory operations teams to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Provide market intelligence and competitor insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of customer interactions, opportunities, and pipeline status as required.
  • Regularly report on sales performance, customer activity, and territory insights.
  • Monitor account metrics and adjust strategies to ensure achievement of targets.

Key Skills/Previous Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Science, or related discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in hospital sales within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Demonstrated success in developing new business and managing complex hospital accounts.
  • Experience engaging with multidisciplinary hospital stakeholders (clinicians, laboratory managers, and procurement).
  • Previous exposure to genomics, molecular diagnostics, or women’s health (NIPT) is highly advantageous.
  • Existing, active relationships in Oncology, NIPT, Cardiology, Nephrology, Neurology, or Ophthalmology.
  • In-depth knowledge of the private hospital network in and around London.
  • Confident and credible with clinical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, science-driven environment.
  • High integrity and commitment to ethical commercial practice.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
