Forbo Flooring, a division of Forbo Group, is a complex manufacturer of high-quality commercial and residential flooring with an extensive range of environmentally friendly linoleum, high-quality vinyl flooring & LVT, entrance flooring systems, carpet tiles, needlefelt, and Flotex flocked flooring. The Ripley, Derbyshire site produces a range of flocked floor coverings in sheet, tile, and plank formats.

The role is a full-time position (36.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) based at our Ripley, Derbyshire site. The apprentice will be studying a Supply Chain Practitioner Level 3 qualification (approximately 23 months duration). This is an exciting opportunity to learn all aspects of supply chain within a global company, including:

  • Production planning
  • Materials control
  • Demand planning
  • Warehousing
  • Group sales support (import/export)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing skills and knowledge of supply chain planning, including demand planning, production scheduling, and materials control.
  • Understanding the purchasing process, the link between purchasing, material control, and production scheduling, and learning how to review material requirements and place orders for raw materials.
  • Gaining knowledge of the finished goods warehouse, including inventory control and the link with planning and warehouse office processes.
  • Learning about group sales support functions, including import and export documentation, logistics, and sales order processing.
  • Acquiring key business skills such as phone and email communications, building people skills, and understanding on-site health and safety expectations.

The successful candidate should have:

  • 5 GCSEs grades 4 – 9 including Maths and English.
  • Basic computer skills using Microsoft packages including Word and Excel.
  • A willingness to learn and be curious about how things work.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Teamworking skills and clear communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to adjust to new tasks and changing priorities.

Salary: MAX £20,600 Bonus: £824. 36.5 hours per week, office-based (no hybrid working or WFH).
