The Role

Forbes Solicitors LLP is seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join our busy and supportive Residential Property team.

This opportunity is open to qualified solicitors, CILEX professionals and suitably experienced non-qualified conveyancers who can confidently manage a residential conveyancing caseload.

It is an excellent opportunity for a skilled conveyancing professional to develop their career within a collaborative, high-performing environment that also values work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling a varied caseload from instruction to completion, including sales, purchases, freehold/leasehold, new build, shared equity, re-mortgages and transfers of equity.
  • Delivering high‑quality conveyancing support, legal advice where appropriate, and excellent client care.
  • Managing caseload profitability and meeting KPIs.
  • Drafting, researching, analysing, and completing all legal documentation.
  • Advising clients on risk, strategy, and achieving the best outcomes.
  • Supporting senior colleagues on complex matters.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory, professional and internal requirements, including maintaining appropriate professional development.
  • Contributing to business development and mentoring junior team members.

About You

This role is open to applications from those who are looking at Senior Paralegal, Solicitor and Associate level roles.

We are looking for people that can demonstrate the following

Essential

  • Qualified Solicitor, CILEX professional with conveyancing practice rights, Licensed Conveyancer, or suitably experienced non-qualified Residential Conveyancer with at least 5 years’ relevant experience.
  • Experience handling sales, purchases, freehold/leasehold, new build, shared equity, re-mortgages and transfers of equity.
  • Understanding of Land Registry processes and SDLT.
  • Proven ability to manage your own caseload and meet fee targets.
  • Competent with case management systems and various IT software packages.
  • Excellent communication, time management, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
  • Alignment with the Firm’s values.

  • Previous experience with Business Development activities.
