Forbes Solicitors LLP are seeking a new team member to take on a hybrid role of Paralegal and New Business Executive to join our Clinical Negligence team at our Leeds Office. This role is full time, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of hybrid working. This hybrid role will efficiently respond to incoming enquiries, assess the needs of new and existing clients, while supporting the Clinical Negligence team to achieve department targets and objectives, through the successful completion of a range of activities. Responsibilities
- Advise potential and existing clients accurately on departmental services, build rapport through strong communication, and convert enquiries into confirmed business by understanding and addressing client needs effectively.
- Provide a professional first port of call to potential clients.
- Provide effective and efficient support to Advisors through chargeable (legal based) work that contributes to the delivery and completion of services for clients (e.g. obtaining and reviewing evidence and statements, taking witness statements, preparing for court, collation of legal bundles).
- Manage regular and up‑to‑date communications with clients and stakeholders, answering queries, managing expectations (including costs), providing updates and effectively chasing responses required and escalating appropriately.
- Assess and understand client queries and file notes to identify actions and advice required and manage and guide the progression of a client file.
- Draft and prepare legal documents that require further knowledge, consideration and input based on analysis and understanding of information gathered.
- Provide legal advice, under the supervision of a qualified legal professional, that resolves queries and advances clients’ instructions and cases.
- Maintain, monitor and update the appropriate systems and documents with clients and case information, data and file notes.
- Carry out and deliver accurate and up‑to‑date legal research.
The Person
- Essential Level 3 qualifications, such as A-Levels and Paralegal L3.
- Previous paralegal / legal assistant experience.
- Previous experience working within an informative customer service role.
- Demonstrates good attention to detail, including proof-reading and editing skills to ensure accuracy and quality of legal documents.
- Demonstrates the ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates the ability to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrates excellent IT skills and the ability to use multiple platforms such as word, excel, outlook and other case management systems/databases.
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and external parties.
- Practical experience of managing a range of stakeholders, such as colleagues and clients.
