Forbes Solicitors are seeking a Solicitor / Associate to join our Private Family team. This exciting opportunity allows you to work in a supportive environment while handling a varied case load of Private Family matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Dealing with a mix of Private Law Family matters (Divorces, Finances, Private Children and Domestic Abuse).
- Handling a broad range of family court hearings alongside providing written and verbal legal advice, and managing communications with clients, opponents, courts/tribunals and third parties to progress cases.
- Supporting the wider team by assisting colleagues on cases, contributing to departmental objectives, and collaborating across departments on joint matters and projects.
- Ensuring compliance with internal and external business requirements.
- Contributing to continuous improvement and the development of the departmental business plan.
- Building positive client and stakeholder relationships, enhancing the Firm’s profile, and supporting business development.
About You
We are looking for people that can demonstrate the following:
Essential
- Be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive, with Family Practice Rights and Advocacy certifications (or equivalent), with 2-5 years PQE.
- Previous experience of working within a private family team.
- Previous experience working with a range of matters, including Divorces, Finances, Private Children, Domestic Abuse and court proceedings.
- Has a good working knowledge of Legal Aid.
- Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Aligns with the Firm’s values.
Desirable
- Previous experience in own advocacy.
- Previous experience with Business Development activities, with the ability to network with potential clients and introduce them to the Firm.
