A lovely family in Chelmsford, Essex, is seeking a dedicated and versatile individual to join our household as a Live-In Housekeeper/Nanny. This role will primarily involve housekeeping duties, with approximately 20% of the time spent providing nanny services. Job offers a self-contained 2-bedroom cottage for accommodation, conveniently located approximately 100 yards from the main house.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and mopping floors.
- Launder clothing and linens, including washing, ironing, and changing bedsheets.
- Clean and sanitise bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and tubs.
- Maintain cleanliness of windows and other surfaces inside the house.
- Assist with food shopping and meal preparation as needed.
- Ensure the overall tidiness and organisation of the home.
Nanny Duties (20%):
- Drive children to and from school as required.
- Provide occasional babysitting for the baby and other children as needed.
- Assist with the care and supervision of the children, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Support the running of the home by helping with various tasks as requested.
Additional Details:
The main house consists of 5 bedrooms and accommodates two adults and a baby that is due at the end of October. Additionally, there will be three older children (aged 16, 12, and 8) who will stay in the house 3-4 nights per week.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in housekeeping and childcare.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to cook nutritious meals for the family.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and responsibilities.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect the family’s privacy.
- Valid DBS and First Aid certificates.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
- References from previous work.
- Clean Driving license.
- The family has a dog and a cat, therefore this role is suitable for a pet friendly individual.
Benefits:
- Salary: £650 - £750 Gross per annum (DOE).
- Working Hours: Monday – Friday, between 7am and 6pm, ideally 4-5hrs in the morning and approx 4-5hrs in the afternoon.
