We're looking for a Sustainability Manager to help embed environmental and social impact across our portfolio, from development projects and refurbishment programmes through to operational performance, ESG reporting and member engagement.
This is a broad and influential role working across Real Estate, Facilities, Operations, Procurement, Finance, Marketing and Customer Success.
You'll play a key role in turning ambitious sustainability goals into practical initiatives that deliver measurable results across our buildings and our wider business.
Please note this position is 4 days in the office and 1 day working from anywhere.
- What you'll be doing
- Development Sustainability
Help ensure sustainability is embedded into projects from concept through to delivery.
- Lead sustainability input across development, refurbishment and capital projects.
- Establish clear targets and work with project teams to deliver against them.
- Monitor progress, manage risks and help ensure successful project outcomes.
- Collaborate with consultants, contractors and stakeholders to drive best practice throughout delivery.
- Energy, Carbon & Building Performance
Support the environmental performance of Fora's growing portfolio.
- Coordinate programmes that reduce energy use, carbon emissions and environmental impact.
- Analyse performance data and translate insights into practical actions.
- Contribute to carbon reporting and wider environmental reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency across operational and development assets.
- ESG Reporting, Certifications & Governance
Help ensure our commitments are measurable, credible and well-governed.
- Lead sustainability reporting across the business for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support and maintain sustainability certifications and accreditations.
- Oversee data collection, validation and reporting processes.
- Monitor emerging legislation, industry developments and reporting requirements.
- Sustainable Procurement & Supply Chain
Embed responsible decision-making throughout procurement activities.
- Support the integration of sustainability criteria into supplier selection and procurement processes.
- Manage supply chain sustainability surveys and reporting activity.
- Identify opportunities to improve supplier performance and reduce environmental impact.
- Promote circular economy principles, reuse initiatives and responsible sourcing.
- Member, Colleague & Community Engagement
Bring sustainability to life across the Fora community.
- Develop sustainability initiatives, events and engagement programmes.
- Create accessible content and training materials for members and employees.
- Support social value programmes, volunteering initiatives and community partnerships.
- Work with Marketing and Communications teams to ensure sustainability messaging is accurate and engaging.
About You
You're someone who enjoys turning strategy into action and helping others understand how environmental and social impact can support business success.
You'll be comfortable moving between technical detail and commercial priorities, building strong relationships across different teams and influencing decisions through insight, evidence and expertise.
You'll enjoy working collaboratively, challenging thinking when needed, and finding practical ways to deliver meaningful improvements across a complex and growing portfolio.

We're looking for
- Experience working within sustainability, ESG, commercial real estate, construction, facilities management or a related built-environment sector.
- Experience supporting or leading sustainability initiatives across development projects, refurbishments or capital programmes.
- Strong understanding of operational sustainability across a multi-site portfolio.
- Experience working with consultants, contractors, project teams and operational stakeholders.
- Knowledge of energy, carbon, waste, water and resource efficiency principles.
- Experience with sustainability data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Experience supporting ESG, investor, regulatory or stakeholder reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of sustainability certifications and frameworks relevant to the built environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across different business functions.
Desirable
- Degree or equivalent experience in sustainability, environmental management, engineering, construction, real estate or a related discipline.
- Professional accreditation such as IEMA, ISEP, CIBSE, RICS, BREEAM, WELL or LEED.
- Experience with NABERS, Whole Life Carbon Assessments or low-carbon building performance frameworks.
- Project management qualifications or significant project delivery experience.
- Qualifications or specialist training in carbon accounting, energy management, ESG reporting or environmental management.
