The role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone—ideally from the rating industry—to step client-side and gain exposure to a large, dynamic property portfolio. You’ll help manage Fora’s business rates liability across:

  • 65 buildings
  • 4,000+ assessments
  • £100m+ rateable value portfolio

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business and play a critical role in helping us navigate the evolving risks associated with serviced office environments. Don’t have direct rating experience? We’re open to candidates with the right transferable skills, mindset and commercial awareness.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Act as a subject matter expert on business rates across the business
  • Work with external advisors to optimise and mitigate rates liability
  • Manage day-to-day portfolio activity, including: SBRR, EPR, MCC and other operational impacts
  • Real-time issue resolution across sites
  • Identify, track and manage rating risks, including: Missing or inaccurate assessments, Forecasting future liabilities
  • Support readiness for key changes: Duty to Notify, Revaluations and legislative updates
  • Partner with the transformation team to implement process and system improvements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, property and finance
  • Support reporting, modelling and analysis of rates data

Experience in business rates or a relevant analytical / property / finance role

  • Strong Excel skills (including modelling and working with complex data)
  • Confident working with stakeholders and providing clear, practical advice

  • A proactive, detail‑oriented mindset with strong problem‑solving skills

Desirable:

  • Experience producing rates calculations
  • Understanding of business rates legislation / case law
  • Experience in client-facing or advisory roles
