About Our Nursery
The Carlton Day Nursery/pre school is a purpose-built nursery situated behind the Carlton Centre on Outer Circle Road Lincoln. The Nursery/pre school is registered for 63 children aged from birth to five years. We are open from 07.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday. We provide nursery education funding for 3 and 4 year olds, and for some eligible 9 month olds and 2 year olds, for 38 weeks per year for a maximum of 15 hours per week, maximum 6 hours per day. Some children may be eligible for an additional 15 hours nursery education funding; for more information please discuss this with the Nursery Manager.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the creation of a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children.
- Carry out the policies, procedures and ethos of the setting, promoting positive values and attitudes.
- Ensure that the needs of all children in their designated room are met, following systems to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
- Be vigilant and protect children from harm or abuse, reporting any concerns immediately in accordance with safeguarding or whistle-blowing policies.
- Learn to use resources effectively, maintaining ratios in their room.
- Reflect on practice and routines, tailoring them to meet the individual needs of each child throughout the day.
- Plan and ensure a stimulating range of developmentally appropriate activities, ensuring their room is well-resourced and creatively set up.
- Carry out observations and assessments of children’s learning and development, ensuring records are kept up-to-date and shared effectively.
- Develop genuine bonds with key children and support the team’s key person system responsibilities.
- Work in partnership with all parents/carers, building and maintaining relationships that encourage trust, open communication and involvement in nursery life.
Training Outcome
Once the apprenticeship is achieved, there may be long-term employment opportunities within the business available.

Working Arrangements
We are open from 07.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will work a 37.5 hour week covering the opening times of the setting. Expected Duration: 1 Year 3 Months.
