A customer facing role supporting end users in the use of IT across multiple locations on school sites. Providing general maintenance and repairs for computer equipment as well as distributing ICT consumables across sites as and when required.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • DESKTOP & APPLICATION SUPPORT - Diagnose and repair PCs, laptops, peripherals and applications - Support all software applications
  • CONFIGURATION & INSTALLATION - Ensure that desktops and laptops are installed with the required software and kept up to date with the latest security fixes. - Assist in the setting up of ICT equipment for events as and when requested.
  • RECORD KEEPING - Assisting the Manager with the control of computer consumables and stock maintenance within the framework of IT Consumables budget. - Keep up to date IT records and asset management as required.
  • GENERAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES - Maintain and extend personal expertise in specific areas of ICT to provide appropriate advice and support. - Undertake such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and commensurate with its level of responsibility.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING: - Educated to GCSE Level - (D) CompTIA or similar ICT qualification - Good literacy and numeracy (GCSE Maths and English) - Supporting users in the use of ICT - Working within an educational environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows & Office - Basic knowledge of interactive whiteboards - Knowledge of cloud working operating systems - LAN and DHCP knowledge - Ability to communicate effectively with staff and pupils - Effectively provide support to users with varying levels of ICT literacy

OTHER REQUIREMENTS - Enthusiasm, energy and commitment - A good punctuality and attendance record - Full DBS Disclosure required
