We are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Consultant to join our growing healthcare recruitment team. You will be responsible for developing new client relationships and expanding existing partnerships across the healthcare and social care sector, with a particular focus on care homes, mental health services and complex care providers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands the healthcare staffing market and enjoys building long-term relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within healthcare and social care.
  • Build strong relationships with care homes, supported living services, mental health providers and complex care organisations.
  • Generate new client leads through proactive business development, networking, referrals, telephone prospecting and face-to-face meetings.
  • Understand clients' staffing requirements and work closely with recruitment teams to deliver suitable temporary staffing solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
  • Manage and grow existing client accounts.
  • Negotiate rates, terms and service agreements.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and local staffing requirements.
  • Work closely with recruitment consultants and operations teams to ensure excellent client service.
  • Meet agreed business development, revenue and activity targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity and client information.

About You

  • Experienced in healthcare recruitment, temporary staffing or social care recruitment.
  • Proven in a business development or sales-focused role.
  • Confident speaking with senior decision-makers and care-sector managers.
  • Comfortable generating new business and making proactive sales calls.
  • Strong at building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Commercially aware and target driven.
  • Organised, self-motivated and able to manage your own pipeline.
  • Knowledgeable about the challenges facing care homes, mental health and complex care providers.
  • Able to work collaboratively with recruitment and compliance teams.
