FootyFun4Kids is looking for an engaging, empathetic and resilient Female Youth Mentor to deliver targeted support for secondary school-aged girls across partner schools in South West London.
The Role
The programme combines pastoral guidance with creative group work on alternating weeks: one-to-one mentoring for students who may experience low self-esteem, social anxiety, disengagement or low-level behavioural challenges, and small-group hair and beauty workshops used to explore self-worth, peer relationships, body image and personal boundaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver one-to-one mentoring that builds trust, emotional resilience and practical coping strategies
- Facilitate small-group hair and beauty workshops that encourage connection and open discussion
- Manage low-level behaviour with patience, firm boundaries and positive reinforcement
- Follow each school’s safeguarding procedures and make timely disclosures to DSLs
- Work with school pastoral staff to align mentoring goals
About You
- Experience mentoring, coaching or working with girls aged 11–16
- Confident leading informal, hands-on group sessions, with practical hair, styling, skincare or beauty skills
- A strong understanding of school safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Relevant qualifications or a track record in youth work, mentoring, education or pastoral support
- An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
- Registered (or willing to register) as self-employed
- This post is open to female applicants only (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1 occupational requirement)
