We are currently looking for an additional and enthusiastic person to join our small pre-school setting and team, as a Pre‑School Assistant. You must ideally be qualified to Level 2 or above and preferably have some experience of this role or working with children.

To provide a stimulating and varied programme of play and learning opportunities for all children to ensure they all reach their best possible goals before starting school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safety and well‑being of all children whilst in your care.
  • Implement strategies to manage behaviour and self‑regulation.
  • Assist in setting up and clearing away all activities and equipment when required.
  • Ensure high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained at all times.
  • Ensure that any information received concerning the children and pre‑school is kept confidential at all times.
  • Actively encourage the children's progress in all areas of development, including different types and stages of play, by interaction and extension of play activities.
  • Be responsible for keeping up to date record files for your Key children.
  • Attend staff meetings as requested.
  • Attend training as requested.
  • Support the work and beliefs of the pre‑school by helping to create an environment that promotes open and equal opportunities for all children and adults.
  • Work as part of a team and support colleagues including the Assistant Manager and Manager.
  • Be flexible with the working practices of the pre‑school.
  • All applicants must be able to cover additional hours when required.
Qualifications:
  • Qualified to Level 2 or above in a relevant field.
  • Experience of a similar role or working with children preferred.
