We are currently partnering with a well-established and highly respected main contractor to appoint a Project Quantity Surveyor for projects based in Liverpool and the wider Merseyside region. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking construction business delivering high-quality schemes across commercial, residential, education, and mixed-use sectors.

The Company: Our client is a financially stable regional contractor with a strong presence across the North West. With projects typically ranging from £5m to £40m, they have built a reputation for quality delivery, strong client relationships, and a collaborative working culture. Due to continued growth and a secured pipeline of work in Liverpool, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with an ambitious Project Quantity Surveyor.

The Role: As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for projects from procurement through to final account. Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring financial performance and contractual compliance.

  • Managing project costs from pre-construction through delivery
  • Procurement of subcontract packages
  • Preparing and managing subcontract documentation
  • Valuations, variations, and change control
  • Cost reporting and forecasting
  • Managing interim applications and final accounts
  • Supporting risk and value management processes
  • Liaising with site teams and clients

About You: We are seeking a commercially astute, proactive professional with experience working for a main contractor.

Essential Experience:
  • 3-7+ years experience in a Quantity Surveying role
  • Experience working on projects £5m+
  • Strong understanding of JCT contracts
  • Ability to manage subcontract accounts independently
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Desirable:
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
  • Experience across commercial or residential sectors
  • Working towards or achieved MRICS (preferred but not essential)
