We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established consultancy and project delivery business within the construction and built environment sector, seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their Manchester-based team. This is a key role supporting the procurement of materials, subcontract packages, and specialist services across a portfolio of high-value projects.

The Role
As Senior Buyer, you will take responsibility for managing procurement activities from pre-contract through to delivery, ensuring value, compliance, and timely supply across multiple projects. Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading procurement strategies for materials, plant, and subcontract packages
- Managing supplier and subcontractor relationships, negotiations, and performance
- Preparing and issuing tender enquiries and analysing returns
- Ensuring procurement activities align with project budgets and programmes
- Working closely with commercial, project, and site teams
- Monitoring market trends, pricing, and supply-chain risks
- Supporting and mentoring junior procurement team members
About You
To be successful in this role, you will likely have:
- Proven experience as a Senior Buyer or Buyer within construction or related sectors
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contracts, and supply-chain management
- Experience working on commercial, infrastructure, or public-sector projects
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, commercially astute approach
- Relevant qualifications (CIPS or similar) desirable but not essential
