Our client, a well-established and growing construction contractor, is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple new-build social housing schemes across the Preston and wider Lancashire area. Role Overview
As Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of several live schemes, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required standards. You will be a key point of leadership, supporting Site Managers, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring smooth project performance from pre-construction through to handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple new-build social housing developments concurrently
- Manage project programmes, resourcing, commercial performance, and quality standards
- Lead and support Site Managers and project teams, ensuring strong communication and problem-solving
- Maintain excellent client relationships and attend progress meetings
- Ensure adherence to health & safety procedures and company policies
- Work closely with commercial teams to monitor budgets, variations, and cost controls
- Identify risks, drive solutions, and ensure projects meet contractual obligations
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the regions operations
About You
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager (or Senior Project Manager ready to step up) within the new-build housing sector
- Strong background in social housing, affordable housing, or partnership housing delivery
- Ability to manage multiple projects across the region
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
- Solid understanding of construction processes, regulations, and H&S standards
- UK driving licence required
