About the Opportunity
We are working with a respected and well-established construction contractor to recruit an experienced Building Services Manager (BSM) to join their team in Manchester. The company delivers a broad mix of new build and refurbishment schemes up to £15m, covering commercial, residential, education, public sector, and mixed-use projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and solutions-focused BSM who enjoys working on varied, fast-paced projects.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage all mechanical and electrical (M&E) elements across multiple building projects
- Review design information, ensuring buildability, compliance, and coordination with construction teams
- Lead M&E planning from pre-construction through to completion
- Oversee subcontractors, ensuring high standards of installation, testing, and commissioning
- Attend design meetings, progress reviews, and site coordination meetings
- Identify risks, technical issues, and opportunities for value engineering
- Ensure M&E works are compliant with regulations, standards, and project specifications
- Coordinate with site teams, commercial departments, and external consultants
- Maintain thorough documentation, reports, and handover information
About You
- Proven experience as a Building Services Manager, M&E Manager, or M&E Coordinator in the construction industry
- Strong technical understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems
- Background in new build and/or refurbishment projects up to £15m
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable managing multiple subcontractors and maintaining quality standards
- Relevant qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering (preferred)
- Full UK driving licence
