This is a part-time, on-site role for a Saturday Stage School Acting Tutor based in Ashton. The Acting Tutor will plan and deliver dynamic, age‑appropriate acting classes that develop core performance skills, confidence, teamwork, and creativity. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing lesson plans
- Directing short scenes or showcases
- Providing constructive feedback
- Supporting children of varied abilities and backgrounds
- Supervising learners to ensure a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment
- Maintaining positive communication with parents and guardians
- Collaborating with other tutors to coordinate group activities and performances
- Supporting end‑of‑term presentations, workshops, and events as required
Qualifications:
- Strong acting and performance skills, with the ability to teach core techniques such as voice, movement, character development, and script work
- Experience planning and delivering structured, engaging drama lessons or workshops for children and young people
- Demonstrated ability to create inclusive, supportive learning environments that encourage participation, confidence, and respect
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues
- Organizational skills to manage lesson preparation, timekeeping, and class administration on Saturdays
- Previous experience in drama schools, youth theatres, schools, or similar educational or community settings is highly desirable
- Relevant training or qualifications in drama, theatre, performing arts, or education (or equivalent professional experience)
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people; willingness to complete or hold an enhanced background check where required
- Flexibility to support rehearsals, showcases, and special events that may occasionally extend beyond standard Saturday hours
