About Footballco

Footballco creates more football content, across more platforms & languages than anyone else, reaching over 700 million football fans across the world each month. Our consumer brands include GOAL, Mundial and many more – no one else has our reach or depth of understanding within the game. We’re a company with over 300 employees globally engaging a huge audience (our channels generate over 2 billion video views a month) and we work with exciting partners in the UK, US and around the world.

About the Role

This role is a 6 month Fixed Term Contract. Footballco is seeking a Social Media Manager to support the delivery of a major global FIFA World Cup campaign for a leading commercial partner on a 6-month fixed-term contract. Working as part of a centralised campaign team, the role focuses on day‑to‑day execution across Footballco’s social platforms and markets from February 1-July 31. This is a hands‑on content delivery role that requires strong copywriting skills, organisation, and comfort working at pace during a global tournament. Content will be distributed onto GOAL’s network of social channels, both organic and paid‑targeted. This role is ideal for someone with experience delivering commercial campaigns on social media channels, ideally within sport and/or media businesses, and a strong understanding of football culture. The role would be based out of the London office with flexibility around hybrid working.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Write clear, engaging, football‑focused copy for social posts across multiple platforms that layers in brand integration to support a roster of assets for the client.
  • Publish assets on GOAL’s channels, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and maintaining high standards of tone, brand consistency, and platform best practice.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling global content, ensuring rollout aligns with campaign timelines, FIFA World Cup‑adjacent moments, and market needs.
  • Coordinate with Football internal teams (creative, design, production, paid social, etc) to ensure assets are campaign‑ready and suitably optimised for social channels.
  • Manage the process for multi‑language content translation and localisation, with content due to go live across 10 markets across the six months.
  • Work with regional teams to confirm publishing requirements, adapt copy when necessary, and ensure smooth distribution across markets.
  • Monitor asset performance, analyse data and share actionable insights to refine upcoming distribution.
  • Support in collating campaign performance data and pulling inputs for client‑facing reports.
  • Work closely with the client services team to ensure accurate delivery of campaign updates and assets.

What you have:

  • Experience working on commercial campaigns delivered for social media platforms within a publisher, sports, or agency environment.
  • Strong football knowledge and confidence optimising copy to best engage fans.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously.
  • Confident publishing assets on Meta channels, TikTok and YouTube.
  • Excellent copywriting skills with attention to detail.
  • Confident using platform analytics platforms to track and measure data.
  • Ability to manage distribution of a high volume of assets in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment, with a problem‑solving mindset and calmness under pressure.
  • A collaborative attitude and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating with global or multilingual teams is an advantage.
