Our mission is to give fans more of the game by building football communities that entertain, inform, and inspire action. We cover everything in football from news and analysis, original reporting, and social media content, to web stores, video, podcasts, newsletters, and live scores.
We are offering a 12 month Fixed Term Contract with strong potential to extend beyond. The role is for an experienced Production Manager to join our expanding creative department. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of production — from researching and budgeting, talent management, filming, post-production through to delivery and beyond.
The Footballco Production Manager will liaise with producers to identify all logistical and cost requirements for approved productions and on-pitch proposals across a range of content genres from simple self-shot influencer pieces to studio productions and to low, medium and high-end location shoots. Experience in immersive spaces is advantageous.
You will be responsible for identifying the most proficient ways of executing productions ensuring that budgeting and logistical efficiencies are achieved to maintain agency margins. Then, with the producer and a small support team, ensure content is delivered to schedule and on budget.
Beyond production fundamentals we are looking for someone with a firm understanding of social media platforms and their content requirements. An understanding of football and its touch points across youth, music and fashion culture is welcomed. Eager and ambitious, the successful candidate will contribute to ensuring our commercial content gets seen, shared and enjoyed. You will be part of a team that lives for football and operates to its calendar, so excellent communication and planning skills are essential.
What you will be doing:
- Have the capability to ascertain production requirements against briefs to optimally deliver creative concepts within fiscal and time constraints.
- Possess a rich black book of suppliers and production specialists in the UK primarily, and globally.
- Be an effective communicator and team player who will collaborate with Producers, Creatives, Prod Coordinators, Prod Assistants, Designers and Account Managers to create compelling work.
- Understand filming equipment requirements across a range of content genres including self-shot influencer pieces, remote video call image-capture, and location shoots ranging from low-end to high-end both domestically and internationally.
- An agile grasp of 'where, when, what, who and how' production logistic requirements for filming or experiential content creation.
- Experience in managing production crews and a support team.
- An understanding of post-production workflows including motion graphic production pipelines, formatting, and distribution to social platforms.
- Be fully focused, organised and have meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation skills relating to talent booking and image/music licensing to secure best value for the business.
- Possess impeccable numeracy and literacy skills.
- Be adept at budget creation, tracking and reconciling.
- Be able to communicate concepts, budgets and issues with internal and external stakeholders.
- Be interested in producing football related branded content.
What you have:
- Enthusiasm toward resolving creative challenges and desire to create market-leading content by continually developing and improving the quality of our output.
- Capability to think ahead to solve problems before they become problems.
- Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail in fast-paced situations.
- A collaborative attitude to building relationships internally and externally.
- An understanding of production technologies and innovation.
- Self-confidence in taking responsibility for assigned projects.
- A good understanding of football and all that it transcends in popular culture (being a football fan is a bonus, but not essential).
- A can-do attitude and the necessary work ethic to handle the fast pace and sometimes unforgiving nature of the creative industry.
