With over 1 billion video views per month, 100 million social followers globally, and a reach of 800 million across web, social, and video platforms, Footballco is the world’s largest football media company and one of the largest digital media companies in sport globally.

About the role

Footballco is looking for an experienced, creative and strategically minded Content Lead to help shape the future of our women's football content globally.

As we continue to invest in women's football, we're building a connected network of brands that speak to different audiences, cultures and communities around the world.

From INDIVISA, Soccer Girl, Yalla Girl and our new culture-first platform, Outfield, our ambition is to create a global sisterhood of women's football brands, each with its own identity, but united by a shared ambition to bring more women into football.

You’ll be responsible for developing and leading the content strategy that brings this vision together, working with editorial, social and strategy teams across our global markets to create compelling content, build audiences and identify opportunities for collaboration.

A major focus will be shaping our content strategy in the lead-up to the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027, ensuring Footballco delivers distinctive, ambitious and joined-up coverage across our brands and platforms.

Alongside this global remit, you’ll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day editorial direction of INDIVISA UK and Outfield, working closely with our social and production teams to improve content output, develop original formats and grow our communities.

We’re looking for someone who understands both football and the culture surrounding it.

Someone who can think strategically about audiences, platforms and brand positioning, but is equally comfortable getting into the detail of a content calendar, challenging a creative idea or helping a team respond to a big moment.

Above all, we want someone who can connect people, ideas and brands, bringing a clear editorial vision to our growing women's football portfolio.

What you’ll be doing

  • Global Content Strategy & Brand Development
  • Lead the development and execution of Footballco's global women's football content strategy, ensuring our brands are connected by a shared vision while retaining their individual identities and local relevance.
  • Build a collaborative network across INDIVISA, The Cutback, Soccer Girl, Yalla Girl, Outfield and our wider women's football portfolio, encouraging the sharing of ideas, insights, content and best practice.
  • Work closely with regional editorial leads to identify opportunities for cross-market storytelling, content collaboration and shared programming.
  • Develop clear content pillars, audience strategies and editorial priorities for our women's football brands, balancing the needs of core football fans with opportunities to reach new audiences.
  • Identify opportunities to develop original editorial IP and repeatable formats that can travel across platforms, brands and markets.
  • Champion our

More Women in Football ambition, ensuring our content celebrates the game, reflects the diversity of its communities and creates new entry points into football fandom.

  • Women's World Cup 2027 Content Strategy
  • Lead the development and execution of Footballco's women's football content strategy in the build-up to, during and beyond the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027.
  • Work with global editorial, social, video and creative teams to develop a joined-up content plan across our women's football brands and priority markets.
  • Identify opportunities for original programming, talent-led formats, cultural storytelling and content collaborations that differentiate Footballco's coverage.
  • Develop content plans that connect the biggest moments on the pitch with the wider conversations, personalities and culture surrounding the tournament.
  • Collaborate with commercial and partnerships teams to identify opportunities for brands to support our editorial ambitions through relevant content and original IP.
  • Ensure the World Cup becomes a platform for sustained audience and brand growth, rather than a standalone moment.
  • Editorial Leadership – INDIVISA UK & Outfield
  • Provide strategic and editorial leadership across INDIVISA UK and Outfield, supporting the social and production teams in delivering engaging, consistent and high-quality content.
  • Work closely with Social Media Managers to shape content calendars, establish editorial priorities and maximise daily content output.
  • Help define and maintain the distinct positioning and tone of voice of each brand, ensuring INDIVISA serves women's football fans while Outfield connects football and sport with wider culture.
  • Support the development of original formats, recurring content series and social-first programming, working closely with the Lead Producer and wider creative teams.
  • Bring fresh ideas to editorial planning, identifying emerging stories, talent, trends and cultural conversations that our brands should be part of.
  • Provide guidance, feedback and creative direction to ensure content is relevant, engaging and aligned with our wider audience growth ambitions.
  • Audience Growth, Platforms & Performance
  • Develop platform-specific content strategies across Tik Tok, Instagram, You Tube and emerging channels, understanding the different roles each plays in audience discovery, engagement and brand building.
  • Use audience insights, analytics and performance data to inform editorial decisions, optimise content and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Work with social teams to establish clear content objectives and performance measures, ensuring we're learning from what works and continually improving our output.
  • Stay ahead of social platform developments, audience behaviours and emerging content trends, bringing new thinking and best practice into the business.
  • Identify opportunities to reach audiences beyond traditional football media, particularly through creators, entertainment, fashion, music and wider popular culture.
  • Build strong working relationships across Footballco's global editorial, social, production, creative and commercial teams.
  • Encourage a collaborative approach to content development, helping regional teams share ideas, resources and successful formats.
  • Work closely with the Head of Women's Football & Culture to translate the wider women's football strategy into clear editorial priorities and actionable content plans.
  • Support the commercial team in developing compelling content propositions, identifying opportunities to package original IP and connect brand partners with our audiences.
  • Provide editorial input into partnership opportunities, ensuring commercial activations feel authentic to our brands and communities.
  • Help create an ambitious, collaborative and creative environment where teams feel supported to experiment, challenge ideas and deliver their best work.

What you have

  • Significant experience in a senior content, editorial or social strategy role within a digital publisher, media business, sports organisation or creative agency.
  • Proven experience developing and delivering content strategies that grow audiences and build distinctive digital brands.
  • A strong understanding of women's football, its audiences, communities and the wider cultural conversations surrounding the game.
  • Experience working across multiple brands, platforms or markets, with the ability to balance a shared strategic direction with distinct audience needs.
  • An excellent understanding of Tik Tok, Instagram, You Tube and the wider digital content landscape, including how different platforms contribute to audience growth and engagement.
  • A strong editorial instinct and creative mindset, with the ability to identify great stories, develop original formats and recognise what will resonate with different audiences.
  • Experience leading or supporting editorial and social teams, providing clear direction, constructive feedback and creative inspiration.
  • A strategic and analytical approach, with experience using audience insights and performance data to inform content decisions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work across teams, departments and international markets.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance long-term strategic projects with the demands of a fast-moving daily content operation.
  • An understanding of how editorial content and original IP can create opportunities for commercial partnerships without compromising authenticity.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and a willingness to get hands-on when needed.
