About the Role

Footballco is looking for a Head of Development / Executive Producer to lead a new department within the content organisation called the “Footballco Originals” team. This is an exciting opportunity to build and lead the production of mid and long-form football video content, primarily for YouTube but also story-led, mid-length, or feature-length football films and documentaries for streaming platforms.

You will oversee our most premium productions, many featuring A-list talent, working with our global video production team of 30+ producers to surface the best ideas and produce them to a high standard. You will collaborate with our audience development team to ensure your videos achieve optimal performance across social media and other distribution channels.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with talent and managing multiple video or film projects at different stages. A passion for storytelling and production expertise are essential. You should be able to oversee projects from script to screen, including managing contracts with talent, agents, and football rights holders. Prior football experience is not necessary but a willingness to immerse yourself in the game is required. This role is based in our London offices with a hybrid work model (3 days/week).

What you\’ll be doing:

• Create video IP that engages fans and can be monetized via social platforms, streaming services, and advertising.
• Oversee the creative development and production of video projects, especially high-end editorial content with complex shoots and premium styling.
• Collaborate with writers and creatives to refine ideas and provide guidance.
• Lead flagship video projects for brands like Indivisa, Mundial, Goal, and more.
• Engage external agencies, bookers, and specialists as needed.
• Build and maintain relationships with talent and rights holders to source IP and access.
• Develop relationships with streaming platforms, either by bringing them into the role or creating new connections.
• Work with global editorial teams to harness ideas and talent across the business.
• Possess deep expertise in directing, writing, cinematography, or related fields.
• Report directly to the EVP Content & Operations, as this is a leadership role in the global content organization.

What you have:

• Experience in scripted and unscripted video production for various platforms, including streaming services.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with high-end talent.
• A strong network of premium contributors (directors, writers, producers).
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities across projects and teams.
• Deep understanding of the global content landscape, especially SVOD, AVOD, and YouTube.
• Strong organizational skills and foresight in content planning.
• Experience working across departments and countries within complex organizations.
• Branded content or advertising experience is a plus but not required.
• Social media experience is a plus but not required.
• A love for football culture, including apparel, fan culture, music, gaming, etc., is beneficial.
