With over 1 billion video views per month, 100 million social followers globally, and a reach of 800 million across web, social, and video platforms, Footballco is the world's largest football media company and one of the largest digital media companies in sport globally.
About the Role
Footballco is looking for a passionate, creative and highly connected Community Manager to help us build and grow women's football communities around the world.
As we continue to invest in women's football, we're building a global network of brands including INDIVISA, Soccer Gal, No White Shorts, Yalla Girl and our soon-to-launch culture-first platform, Outfield. Each has its own voice, audience and identity, but all share the ambition of bringing more women into football.
We don't just want to publish content to football fans. We want to build relationships with them, start conversations, create shared experiences and make our communities feel like they're genuinely part of what we're building.
You'll be responsible for developing and delivering a global community engagement strategy that turns our channels from one-way publishers into spaces where fans actively participate, connect and feel heard. From engaging in comments and DMs to developing new community platforms, organising fan events and creating opportunities for audiences to get involved, you'll help bring our brands closer to the people who follow them.
Alongside this, you'll build and nurture a global network of creators, storytellers and influential voices at the heart of women's football. We want to go beyond traditional influencer relationships, building a genuine community of people who shape the culture of the game and helping us amplify their voices across Footballco's platforms.
You'll also support our editorial, social, production and commercial teams with talent identification, outreach, bookings and coordination.
We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, brilliant with people and genuinely connected to women's football culture. Someone who knows that building a community is about more than follower numbers, and understands the value of making people feel part of something.
What you'll be doing:
Community Engagement & Audience Growth
- Develop and execute a global community engagement strategy across Footballco's women's football brands, driving meaningful interaction, fan participation and audience growth.
- Play an active role in our social communities, engaging in conversations, responding to comments and DMs and helping create a distinctive, approachable personality for each brand.
- Work closely with regional social and editorial teams to identify opportunities to spark conversations, celebrate fans and encourage greater participation across our channels.
- Explore new ways to build direct relationships with our audiences, including WhatsApp communities, broadcast channels, community groups and other emerging platforms.
- Develop community-led content ideas and activations that put fans at the centre of our storytelling, encouraging user-generated content and opportunities for audiences to contribute.
- Identify and nurture our most engaged fans, building stronger relationships and finding ways to recognise and reward their involvement.
- Ensure community engagement reflects the different cultures, conversations and behaviours of women's football fans across our global markets.
Creator Network & Relationship Development
- Build and manage a global network of creators, storytellers and cultural voices connected to women's football, helping Footballco develop a distinctive and authentic creator community.
- Identify emerging talent and influential voices across different markets, from established creators to grassroots storytellers and people shaping the culture around the game.
- Build genuine, long-term relationships with creators, understanding their interests, audiences, skills and ambitions, rather than approaching them solely for individual campaigns.
- Develop a clear framework for managing and growing our creator network, maintaining an accessible database of contacts, specialisms, markets and previous collaborations.
- Work closely with editorial, social and production teams to identify opportunities to feature creators in our content, amplify their work and collaborate on original formats.
- Explore ways to bring our creator network together through events, shared experiences, exclusive opportunities and other community-building initiatives.
- Support the development of a creator network that feels genuinely different from traditional influencer programmes, built around collaboration, shared interests and a love of the game.
Fan Experiences, Events & Community Activations
- Develop ideas for community-led activations, fan meet-ups, screenings and events that bring our digital audiences together in real life.
- Work with internal teams and external partners to help plan and deliver fan experiences across our key markets.
- Identify opportunities to connect our audiences and creators around major moments in the women's football calendar, particularly the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027.
- Build relationships with fan groups, grassroots communities and other organisations that can help extend our reach and create meaningful connections.
- Support the development of community experiences that strengthen brand affinity and encourage long-term engagement beyond individual events.
Talent Coordination & Internal Collaboration
- Support editorial, social, production and commercial teams with creator and talent identification, outreach, booking and scheduling.
- Act as a key point of contact for creators and talent, helping coordinate opportunities and maintain positive, professional relationships.
- Manage talent communications and logistics where required, ensuring contributors are fully briefed and supported throughout projects.
- Work closely with the wider women's football team to identify opportunities to involve creators and communities in original content, editorial campaigns and brand partnerships.
- Build strong relationships across Footballco's global teams, sharing creator insights, community feedback and opportunities for collaboration.
Community Insights & Performance
- Develop ways to measure the impact of our community activity, looking beyond follower growth to understand engagement, participation, relationships and brand affinity.
- Monitor community conversations and audience feedback, sharing relevant insights with editorial and social teams to help shape future content.
- Track the development of our creator network, evaluating collaborations, engagement and opportunities for further growth.
- Stay connected to emerging platforms, creators and cultural trends, bringing fresh ideas into the business.
- Regularly share community insights, progress and recommendations with the wider women's football team.
What you have:
- Experience in community management, creator relations, social media, talent management or a similar role within a digital publisher, media business, sports organisation or creative agency.
- A genuine passion for women's football and an understanding of the fans, creators, communities and culture surrounding the game.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, particularly Instagram, TikTok and emerging community channels, and an understanding of how to turn online engagement into meaningful relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to build relationships with everyone from emerging creators and grassroots fans to established talent and commercial partners.
- A natural instinct for what makes online communities thrive, with the ability to start conversations, build engagement and make audiences feel valued.
- An understanding of the creator landscape, including how to identify emerging talent and build authentic, mutually beneficial relationships.
- Experience supporting events, activations, creator partnerships or talent coordination.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple relationships, bookings and projects simultaneously.
- A creative, proactive mindset and the confidence to bring new ideas to the table.
- The ability to work collaboratively across different teams and international markets, balancing global ambitions with local community needs.
- A willingness to get hands-on, whether that's responding to comments, attending an event, meeting a creator or helping coordinate a shoot.
- An appreciation of the different ways people connect with football, from the action on the pitch to fashion, music, lifestyle and wider popular culture.
Why This Role?
We're building something exciting at Footballco, with ambitious plans to grow our women's football brands and connect communities around the world.
But we know that growing an audience isn't the same as building a community.
We want our brands to be places where fans feel represented, creators feel supported and people genuinely want to get involved. Somewhere that celebrates the people and culture surrounding women's football, not just the results on the pitch.
This is an opportunity to help shape what that looks like, building relationships, bringing people together and creating a global community that can grow with the game.
We're looking for someone who loves football, loves people and wants to help us bring More Women in Football.
Footballco is proud to be an equal-opportunity workplace. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to, and will not be discriminated against based on age, race, gender, colour, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, disability or any other protected category.
