Footballco creates more football content, across more platforms & languages than anyone else, reaching over 700 million football fans across the world each month. Our consumer brands include GOAL, Mundial, INDIVISA and many more – no one else has our reach or depth of understanding within the game. We’re a company with over 300 employees globally engaging a huge audience (our channels generate over 2 billion video views a month) and we work with exciting partners in the UK, US and around the world.

About the Role

Footballco is looking for a Social Media Manager & Social Creative to lead the launch and growth of a new set of multi-sport social channels designed to engage an audience of young women and girls.

This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract.

You will be responsible for planning and publishing creativity-fused, social-first content specifically tailored for a UK female audience aged 18-34. You will also be the first port of call for commercial collaboration and content ideation in this space across the 2026/27 season.

TikTok, Instagram and YouTube are expected to be the channels this brand will reach an audience on. The role will require regular attendance in our London office/studio.

What you'll be doing:

  • Content Ideation & Planning: Lead the creative ideation and planning of platform-native social content to ensure the channel's output stands out.
  • Publishing & Optimisation: Handle daily social publishing, optimisation, and community management across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok to maximise channel growth and audience engagement in the UK.
  • YouTube Growth Strategy: Develop and execute tailored strategies specifically designed to drive YouTube channel growth, focusing heavily on short-form volume and long-form quality, with content optimised with video structure, custom thumbnails, and search-friendly captions.
  • Crossover Audiences: A critical reason for this channel to fill a gap in Footballco’s channel portfolio of creating culture-first content (fashion, music, lifestyle) that reaches UK women who would identify as casual football fans, with football not necessarily a core part of their online identity.
  • Production Collaboration: Plan and script long-form and short-form video content, arming the production and post-production teams with detailed briefs and insights to support efficient content shoots.
  • Content Calendar Management: Manage a social planner to deliver high-quality audience and commercial content against key milestones. Identify crossover opportunities in the calendar (movie releases, fashion events, etc).
  • Performance Analytics: Monitor content performance, analyse data using social tools, and share actionable insights to constantly refine future publishing and growth plans.
  • Trend & Format Monitoring: Keep your finger on the pulse of social trends, platform updates, and emerging formats to keep our new channels leading the way with highly relevant content.
  • Commercial Pitches: Be the content lead for ideation for pitches to clients/agencies where output will live on the new set of channels you’ll be primarily responsible for, whether integrated into existing IP or using as a platform to develop new IP.
  • Partner Collaborations: Develop and deliver social content plans for commercial and non-commercial partners based around shared objectives, ensuring assets go live against deadlines.

What you have:

  • Minimum three years’ experience planning and publishing audience-driven content on social media channels.
  • Proven track record of growing audiences and driving strong engagement on relevant social platforms.
  • Deep-rooted knowledge of culture crossover content across online platforms – music, fashion, TV, gaming… anything where passion, identity and fandom can overlap with sport.
  • Good understanding of sports culture, fan communities, and the modern media landscape.
  • Experience writing video scripts, content plans, and providing sharp, actionable feedback to production teams.
  • Strong editorial judgement and the creative ability to react at pace to breaking news, viral trends, and cultural moments.
  • Familiarity with social analytics tools (e.g. YouTube Analytics, Measure Studio) to pull insights and pivot publishing and content plans accordingly.
  • Excellent copywriting skills and a sharp creative mind capable of producing content that genuinely engages and excites casual UK female sports fans organically.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment, keeping a calm, problem-solving mindset under pressure.
  • A highly collaborative attitude with excellent communication skills, enabling you to work effectively with both on-screen talent and internal production teams.
