About the role
Footballco is looking for an experienced social media content expert to join our team. The Branded Social Content Lead will have an in-depth understanding of all things social – from channel strategy and content creation, best practice for organic social activations, the impact of trends and platform updates, campaign delivery considerations and beyond. They will also have the vision, ambition and creativity to lead our efforts to constantly evolve our social content offering in partnership with creative, content and video editorial teams.
We need someone who knows all existing social media platforms inside and out, who has a passion for the industry, an appreciation of the nuance of driving engagement with football fans in a crowded space and experience of working with brand partners to seamlessly integrate their marketing messages into social content. This position is based in our London offices - with 3 days a week in the office. We offer competitive compensation and a bonus scheme.
What You'll be doing:
- Be the social media expert in the department and responsible for inspiring and advising on the latest formats and innovations.
- Be responsible for leading, inspiring, bettering and growing our small branded social content subteam.
- Work closely with the wider commercial strategy team and editorial and video teams to develop, package, and optimise editorial IP and formats to build sponsored content and adapted IP offerings for commercialisation.
- Work closely with our client services team to build out distribution timelines and content plans, and be responsible for communicating this strategy to clients with real insight and rationale.
- Work closely with a number of creatives, producers and designers to make sure that all of our ideas are being used in the best way and on the right platforms.
- Work closely with design and production and help optimise our output, ensuring that everything is in the right format.
- Work closely with our paid social team to monitor content performance throughout the live period, making changes where necessary and learning for future projects.
- Use social media analytics to optimise future content and ensure KPI’s are hit.
- Help craft, compile and critique social copy for various comms platforms.
- Support team members on content planning and distribution of commercial campaigns.
- Keep abreast of what our competitors are doing across the industry and feed insights and intelligence into the team and other departments.
What you have:
- Experience working as a social media manager, content strategist or similar, specifically within a digital agency, content publisher or media business or social agency.
- A second-to-none understanding of all social media platforms – how they work, what works well, the latest innovation and the top talent.
- Experience delivering and tracking a variety of projects across all digital and social channels.
- Experience working with and leading a content team with proven results.
- A good understanding of football and all that it transcends in popular culture (being a football fan is a bonus, but not essential).
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate your thinking to clients and those around you.
- The ability to be extremely disciplined and ensure the agency process and protocol is fulfilled, while visibly demonstrating an adaptable approach.
- A hunger and a willingness to learn and the desire to pass this on to your peers.
