About the Role
We are the Football Foundation – a charity that delivers grassroots facilities in partnership with the Premier League, the FA and government. The Senior Communications Manager will play a central part in telling the story of the Football Foundation and Premier League Stadium Fund, showcasing the impact of their investment across communities. The postholder will be responsible for creating, shaping and delivering strategic communications, public‑affairs and stakeholder engagement activities. Through compelling communications, positive coverage and strong stakeholder relationships, they will increase awareness of the Funding Partners’ investment and achievements among key audiences, while fostering engagement and understanding across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic communications plans that highlight the Foundation’s ambitions, programmes and impact.
- Shape and deliver public‑affairs activities and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Promote the impact of investment to media, government, funding partners and communities nationwide.
- Create compelling campaigns to increase awareness and foster engagement.
- Build and nurture influential relationships with key stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experienced Senior Communications Manager or equivalent, with a proven track record in strategic communications.
- Strong understanding of, or enthusiasm for, the football pyramid, grassroots football and the broader sports sector.
- Ability to shape compelling campaigns and build influential relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
