Location – Home-based with regular travel across a designated region (North of England and the South/South East of England) and to our office as required.
We are currently recruiting Delivery Managers to cover designated geographical regions across the North of England and the South/South East of England. Successful candidates must be able to travel across their designated region as required and maintain a regular presence within it.
We are the Football Foundation - the Premier League, the FA and government’s charity that delivers outstanding grassroots facilities, more and better places to play, transforming lives and communities where it is needed most.
As a Delivery Manager, you'll lead the development of a diverse portfolio of community sports facility projects from initial concept through to funding approval. Working closely with local authorities, County FAs, football clubs, schools, community organisations and funding partners, you'll identify opportunities, shape high-quality projects and ensure they deliver lasting community impact. You'll oversee community engagement, assess project feasibility, prepare funding recommendations and work alongside our Technical Project Managers to ensure projects are strategically aligned, financially viable and ready for successful delivery. This is a varied role that combines project development, stakeholder engagement and strategic relationship management, offering the opportunity to make a real difference to communities across England.
About the Football Foundation: Over the last 25 years, the Foundation has awarded more than 75,000 grants worth more than £1.3 billion to deliver the grassroots facilities that every community across the country needs and deserves. As the biggest sport charity in the country, we’re a unique partnership between key football partners with a shared goal – ensuring every community in England has a great place to play.
What are we looking for? We're looking for someone with experience in grant assessment, programme or project management, sports development - or a related field - who enjoys building strong partnerships and delivering projects that create lasting community impact. You’ll have experience managing multiple projects, assessing project viability and preparing high-quality reports to support investment decisions. You'll possess excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills, together with a genuine passion for improving communities through sport. An understanding of sports facility development, local government or the community sports sector would be beneficial, but is not essential.
What can we offer you? The salary band for this role is £40,000 - £46,000 per annum, dependant on relevant skills and experience. You will be entitled to 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. The Foundation also offers a generous pension scheme (8% employer contribution), free healthcare provision, a monthly gym subsidy, death in service benefit, access to selected match tickets and events at Wembley. We are committed to helping our team members maintain a healthy work-life balance, so offer flexible working around core hours to help achieve that.
Equality and Diversity Commitment: The Football Foundation is committed to and values the principles of diversity, equality, equity, and inclusion. We strive to provide an inclusive and supportive working environment where all our team feel respected and supported in fulfilling their potential. We encourage and welcome applications from all, regardless of background and are particularly interested to hear from individuals belonging to under-represented groups including diverse ethnic communities, individuals with a disability and those from the LGBTQI+ community.
Should you require any adjustments during the recruitment process, whether at the application or interview stage, please contact jobs@footballfoundation.org.uk. We will discuss your needs and give consideration to any reasonable adjustments requested.
The closing date for applications is: 23 August 2026 at midnight. Virtual interviews will be 1/2/3 September, with in-person interviews held week commencing 7 September 2026. We appreciate the time and effort that every applicant invests in applying to join us. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are only able to contact candidates who are shortlisted for interview. If you have not heard from us within two weeks of the closing date, please assume that your application has not been successful on this occasion. Please note that you must be eligible to work in the UK to apply.
