We are looking for an ambitious, highly motivated and passionate Product Developer to join our in-house “Own Brand” Design Centre team at Footasylum. We are home to multiple brands across mens, womens, kids and accessories. This role gives great opportunity to the right candidate to work on Footasylum’s “own brands” such as Zavetti Canada, Alessandro Zavetti and many more.

Responsibilities:
- Critical path/timing: Oversee CP meetings to communicate with multiple factories to ensure the production process is on track. Ensure team are working to a critical path to ensure that the development process is smooth and that the ex-factory dates are maintained.
- Product compliance: Responsible for the full control of Testing requirements and new manual guidelines and feedback to the team on what is needed.
- Innovation: Looking at ways to improve ways of working within the team and the department. Implementing and maintaining new procedure and ways of working documents.
- Relationship/communication: Work directly with overseas suppliers and travel for production and development trips. (May include evenings and weekends). Work closely with Product development manager to ensure that the PD function runs as smoothly as possible.
- Mentoring: Support and mentor product developers to develop the team further by leading and supporting the Mid and Junior team to create a motivated team for continuous improvement. Responsible to lead product developers for development and ensuring that the products follow all safety standards and meet minimum requirements on testing. Monitor and support the Product developers on working closely with the Designers and Buyers to develop own brand products which are fit for purpose.
- Product Development: Oversee the product developers with the checking of submissions sent from the factories including lab dips, bulk fabric and print submissions. Responsible for overseeing measuring & sending comments on all own brand samples, this would be across all categories. Leading product development fit meetings to ensure we manufacture products to the highest standards by scrutinizing samples on and off fit models alongside Brand Managers using your ability to understand, recommend and execute commercial construction solutions.
- Organization: Overseeing and reporting the day-to-day workload for Product Development team and report any issues to the Product development manager. Ensure managing log of own brand returns and logs bulk QC checks from Ekol and warehouse in timely manner whilst overseeing general QC function. Ensure general day to day organization is met by the team, including organizing samples, archiving old samples & creating/removing submission files. Self-motivated and have good time management with the ability to adapt and work to tight deadlines and delivers results within specified time frames. Ability to react quickly to changing demands and priorities.
