Description - Assistant Merchandiser

The Team
The objective of this role is to be a key trading function within the Merchandising team to maximise commercial opportunities on your product areas throughout all locations and channels. Drive sales through improved availability and knowledgeable geographical distribution through the effective management of stock intake and levels, and inter-branch transfers to maximise profit. Nurture and coach Merchandise Assistants on your team to aid their development. Interact with other internal teams to improve performance and drive best practices.

You will be accountable for the end-to end process of raising and sending orders.
You will prepare weekly category trade reviews in preparation for the Monday meeting with actions to optimise department KPI’s.
You will monitor store stock levels and adjust replenishment in line with current sales trends.

Prepare weekly category trade review in preparation for Monday meeting with actions to optimise department KPIs.
Identify priority stores for the week alongside trading team, visit where required and complete reports to share with the wider teams.
Ad hoc and weekly reporting and analysis.
Liaise and be first point of contact with the warehouse around delivery issues.
Own all aspects of the orderbooks including reconciliations, both in season and at point of order.
Manage orderbooks and flag bookings to hit monthly forecasts and maximise sales.
Monitor store capacities and packages, for new and existing locations, managing condensing of stocks and inter-branch transfers.
Monitor store stock levels and adjust replenishment in line with current sales trends.
Plan and action new store ranges (in conjunction with pre-schedule).
Manage and create line cards and carry over sheets in conjunction with the Merchandiser.
Be aware of the company and department strategies, provide analysis to assist the Merchandiser to create quarterly strategies (at category and brand level).
Be aware of quarterly/seasonal brand forecasts for your product areas to create buy.
Support Merchandiser with markdown and promotional management to optimise sales.
Ensure all deadlines are met in accordance with the buying calendar.
Be accountable for end-to-end process of raising and sending orders.
With support from Merchandiser manage Merchandise Assistant’s workload, promote good practices and oversee their day-to-day tasks.
Drive personal and team progression through one to one reviews and development plans.
