Everything we do is about making life better for our clients and their families. We’re looking for a proactive and organised Paralegal to join our Clinical Negligence team. You’ll play a vital role in supporting clients during some of the most challenging moments of their lives, ensuring cases progress smoothly and efficiently. This role is based in our Exeter office, where regular office attendance is essential for collaboration and high‑quality service delivery.
Why this role matters
As part of our Shared Legal Services function, you will support the early stages of Clinical Negligence claims, onboarding new clients, and helping manage complex and sensitive cases. Your work will directly contribute to achieving better outcomes for individuals and families affected by medical negligence.
What you’ll do
- Support lawyers across the firm in the initial stages of a claim, including setting up the file and obtaining and reviewing medical records.
- Draft documentation and provide legal/administrative support to senior lawyers.
- Conduct research into quantum, medical issues, legislation and case law.
- Support the team with file management and day‑to‑day administration.
What we’re looking for
- Genuine interest and/or prior experience in Clinical Negligence matters.
- Ability to handle sensitive client information with tact and empathy.
- Highly flexible approach, able to work effectively as part of a busy team.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
- Proven organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Strong IT skills, including confident use of MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
