Job Purpose
The Billing and Credit Assistant will adopt good Credit Management processes and support the legal teams at Foot Anstey. The purpose of this role is to assist the Credit Manager with billing tasks to ensure that our legal teams and clients receive a high level of service in line with the Firm's policies. It will also support the Credit Controllers in successfully collecting cash from our clients. The role will ensure that communication with clients, our legal teams and accounts department is appropriate and effective to invoice clients promptly and to collect cash in line with the firm's payment terms.
What you’ll do
- Assist the Credit Controllers in operating an efficient credit control reminder system which encourages cash collection for the firm.
- Assist the Credit Manager with any billing tasks by adopting a right first time approach.
- Communicate any complex billing arrangements with the relevant Credit Controller which will assist them with collection of the invoices raised.
- Liaise with our clients by e‑mail and telephone, dealing with any queries they may have regarding their account.
- Comply with HMRC rules and regulations.
- Maintain records efficiently.
- Comply with and apply the Credit Policy.
- Allocate office payments to the ledger.
- Further ad‑hoc related duties to ensure the team runs smoothly.
What we’re looking for
- Experience working in an office environment.
- An interest in working in a finance/accounts team.
- The ability to produce work which is both accurate and of high quality.
- The ability to be proactive and organised and able to prioritise and work to deadlines.
- Knowledge of accounting/bank procedures (preferred).
- A flexible approach and the ability to work in a team.
- Confident technical skills (MS Office).
- The ability to understand and follow policies and procedures.
