As a Product Owner at Foods Connected, you play a central role in shaping the evolution of our platform. As the bridge between business needs and technical execution, you will be responsible for contributing to and communicating the product vision, managing the product backlog, and ensuring the delivery of high-value features that align with customer needs and business goals.
Working as part of a cross-functional Agile engineering team and in collaboration with the wider Product Team, you partner closely with software engineers, UX, customer facing teams, and other internal and external stakeholders.
Your responsibilities include driving the development of new features in line with the Product Roadmap, acting as the voice of the customer, managing the team’s backlog and communicating effectively with stakeholders. Your work will directly contribute to our mission of empowering clients with cutting-edge tools to streamline operations, improve transparency, and drive efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate closely with the Group Product Manager and Head of Product to align product initiatives with the overall product strategy and company vision.
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring it is refined, prioritised, and aligned with business objectives.
- Translate high-level product strategy into detailed user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Act as the voice of the customer within cross-functional teams, ensuring user needs are at the forefront of product decisions.
- Work closely with engineering, design, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality features on time and within scope.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Monitor product performance, gather user feedback, and iterate on features to drive continuous improvement.
- Support go-to-market planning and collaborate with marketing, sales, and customer success teams to ensure successful product launches.
- Drive innovation by identifying trends, exploring new opportunities, and contributing to idea generation that enhances products, services, or processes.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
To perform this job successfully, the Product Owner should have experience with and knowledge of:
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in software development.
Technical Skills
To perform this job successfully, the Product Owner should have experience with:
- Strong understanding of Agile principles, with a track record of delivering value driven product increments.
- Utilisation of AI tools and how it can support efficiency gains for your role and wider team.
- Ability to translate complex client needs into clear, concise requirements.
- Ability to balance technical constraints with user needs and business goals.
- Familiarity with modern software development tools and methodologies, including Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a user-centered design mindset.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
