Offer full lifecycle solutions including: equipment design & manufacture, installation & commissioning, spare parts, servicing & aftermarket support.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Sales Engineer / Technical Sales Engineer to join a growing engineering business, supporting both capital equipment sales and aftermarket spare parts & service sales. Field and office-based sales role. Supporting both Sales Manager and Service & Parts Manager. Combining technical engineering knowledge with commercial sales responsibility. Acting as a key point of contact for customers, engineering teams, project teams, commercial team.
- Manage incoming sales enquiries (phone & email) for: Capital equipment, Spare parts, Engineering services.
- Prepare and deliver technical quotations, proposals, and cost estimates.
- Proactively follow up quotations to convert into sales orders.
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships (UK mainly).
- Identify opportunities to win back lapsed customers and grow aftermarket sales.
- Provide technical support and product advice to customers including layouts for equipment proposals.
- Ensure all sales proposals comply with internal processes and procedures.
- Manage accurate sales documentation and CRM/database updates.
- Coordinate smooth handover of orders to upstream teams.
- Ensure delivery timescales are realistic and achieved.
- Customer site visits.
- Support product demonstrations, trials, and exhibitions.
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualification in Engineering (NVQ / HNC / HND / Degree).
- Strong knowledge of: Mechanical / Electrical components.
- Experience in: Technical sales / internal sales / sales support / applications engineering.
- Can read Engineering drawings and proficient in: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong mix of technical knowledge + commercial awareness.
- Organised, proactive, and confident dealing with customers.
- Looking to develop a career in engineering sales / technical sales / capital equipment.
Desirable (Not essential)
- Capital equipment / machinery / food processing equipment.
- Aftermarket sales / spare parts / MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations).
- Manufacturing / production / engineering environment.

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 pa depending on experience plus bonus
