Job Description Summary
FoodChain ID’s Legal team is looking for a UK-based Corporate Counsel to work with a small, fast-paced team that supports a global organization. Under the guidance of the General Counsel, this role provides a unique opportunity to hit the ground running on a variety of legal matters at a growing company providing software solutions and services across the food & beverage industry. The role is Remote based with occasional travel.
Job Description
What you'll be doing:
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of technology license/subscription agreements supporting international sales teams for both cloud-based solutions and on-premise software implementations.
- Draft and maintain form license agreements, services agreements and non-disclosure agreements.
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of services agreements (testing/inspection/audit/certification) supporting an international sales team.
- Advise the Sales, Operations and other stakeholder teams to ensure agreements are consistent with internal risk tolerance and corporate policies and processes.
- Advise business teams regarding legal issues presented by new product offerings and third-party relationships.
- Review and negotiate other technology agreements as needed, including channel partner, data partner and reseller agreements.
- Review and negotiate agreements with the company’s technology and non-technology vendors.
We're looking for:
- Minimum 3 years of experience.
- Counsel (bar member in good standing).
- Mix of law firm and in-house legal department experience; preferred.
- Experience negotiating client agreements from the software vendor perspective.
- Exceptional drafting, negotiation, organizational, communication and prioritization skills.
- Proven ability to identify, prioritize and resolve issues quickly and independently.
- Deal-focused with a sense of urgency to get things done.
- Effective at managing project expectations and managing escalations of business issues.
- A team player who can work collaboratively and create strong relationships with a wide variety of people at all levels across the company; calm under pressure with empathy, humility, and a sense of humor.
Good to have:
- Experience negotiating agreements with international clients, including UK and European clients.
- Knowledge of GDPR and other privacy laws affecting personal data.
- Experience scaling legal processes and policies for a rapidly growing global organization.
