We are now looking for a Sourcing Buyer to join our growing team and play a key role in delivering sourcing activities that directly support NHS Trusts and healthcare providers.
The Opportunity
As a Sourcing Buyer, you'll support the delivery of procurement and sourcing activity across NHS Supply
Chain: Food.
Working closely with sourcing, procurement, account management and NHS stakeholders, you'll help coordinate procurement exercises from initial briefing through to contract award.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with procurement, sourcing or commercial experience who wants to further develop their career within a large-scale, purpose-led procurement organisation.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver procurement sourcing exercises and framework call-offs from planning through to award.
- Prepare and issue procurement documentation including specifications, evaluation criteria, supplier communications and award documentation.
- Manage tender activity through e-sourcing platforms, ensuring accurate records are maintained throughout the procurement process.
- Coordinate supplier clarifications, submissions and evaluation activities.
- Support governance processes and ensure procurement activities follow agreed procedures and public procurement requirements.
- Work closely with Category Teams, Account Managers, NHS stakeholders and suppliers to keep projects progressing smoothly.
- Build positive stakeholder relationships and provide a professional, customer-focused service throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Contribute to maintaining consistent and effective sourcing processes across the wider team.
About You
We're looking for an organised and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with a broad range of stakeholders and is comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Experience in procurement, sourcing, commercial or a related business function.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with stakeholders and maintaining accurate records.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Ability to follow defined processes while recognising when escalation is required.
Desirable
- Experience supporting tendering activities or framework call-offs.
- Public sector or NHS procurement experience.
- Experience using procurement platforms such as Jaggaer, Atamis or similar e-sourcing systems.
- Knowledge of public procurement regulations and governance.
- Experience within the food, foodservice or wider supply chain sector.
