Overview
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is seeking a Welsh Language Officer and Translator to champion the Welsh language across FSA work in Wales, ensuring information is accessible in Welsh and delivered with clarity, inclusivity and impact.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality written translations of FSA material into Welsh, including proofreading and ensuring consistency across the FSA’s work in Wales.
- Collaborate with consumers, food businesses and stakeholders to deliver a Welsh language service equal in quality to the English language service.
- Support the Welsh Language Unit with varied translation tasks and contribute to public health messaging.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Welsh translation and proofreading.
- Strong written communication skills in Welsh and English.
- Ability to work in a busy, proactive Welsh Language Unit and deliver accurate translations to deadlines.
