Join to apply for the Financial Controller role at Food Standards Agency. This is a key leadership role where you’ll help shape and deliver the FSA’s financial strategy. You’ll ensure robust financial controls are in place, oversee safe and effective financial operations, and lead the production of our Annual Report and Accounts to the highest standards. This role is a 12-month fixed-term position.
Responsibilities
- Champion strong financial governance across the organisation.
- Lead on financial reporting and continuous improvement of our finance systems.
- Support our financial operations team to deliver accurate, efficient, and well-controlled processes.
- Manage the team responsible for producing FSA’s Annual Report and Accounts, our finance system and digital finance solutions and our finance operations delivery.
- Act as the main point of contact for our external auditors.
About the Role
A key part of this role involves leading the Financial Control and Operations team, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment. You’ll champion continuous improvement and drive excellence by embedding best practices from the Government Finance Function.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted source of expert financial advice across the organisation, particularly in areas affecting financial management and control.
- Ensure compliance with the principles of Managing Public Money.
- Drive changes and continuous improvement in our finance systems and other digital solutions.
- Take full ownership of the Annual Report and Accounts process, leading the Financial Accounting.
