Hygiene Co-ordinator for a bespoke Food Manufacturer based in West Yorkshire.

If you are passionate about hygiene excellence, this is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of hygiene standards, compliance, and continuous improvement across the site.

  • Reporting to the Technical Manager, responsibilities for the role will include:
  • Leading and overseeing hygiene operations across the manufacturing facility, ensuring standards are maintained at all times.
  • Organising and monitoring routine cleaning programmes and deep cleans, ensuring that all cleaning schedules are completed.
  • Ensuring production environments and staff facilities are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Working with Production teams to promote and sustain food safety and hygiene compliance throughout the site.
  • Controlling the safe use, storage, and management of cleaning chemicals, ensuring full adherence to COSHH regulations. Assist with staff staining.
  • Managing pest control programmes, following up on recommendations and maintaining accurate records of all actions taken.
  • Conducting regular hygiene inspections, GMP assessments, and internal compliance audits, implementing improvements where required.
  • Investigating hygiene concerns, deviations, and non-conformances, identifying root causes and supporting effective corrective actions.
  • Assisting in maintaining compliance with HACCP plans, BRCGS standards, and all relevant food safety requirements.
  • Leading the Environmental Monitoring Programme.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the site is audit ready.

Essential / Desirable skills include

  • Proven experience in a Hygiene role within a Food Manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning methods and compiling cleaning schedules
  • Experienced in investigating hygiene non-conformances, identifying root causes and supporting effective corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skill and attention to detail
  • Leadership skills
