Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Quality Manual and systems in line with BRC standards.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers on quality and food safety issues.
  • Ensure compliance with supplier approval criteria.
  • Supervise and manage QA and Hygiene staff.
  • Accurately complete, record, and file all QA records.
  • Collaborate with Production Managers and Supervisors to meet production standards.
  • Assist in managing technical audits effectively.
  • Deputise for the Technical Manager when necessary.
  • Proactively engage in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate actively in the HACCP team, updating risk assessments and hazard analysis.
  • Collect samples and analyse microbiological results.
  • Promptly address customer complaints.
  • Manage the equipment calibration schedule.
  • Resolve day-to-day quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • Clean UK/EU driving licence.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a Quality/Technical role.
  • Third-level qualification (Degree or HNC/D) in a relevant food-related discipline.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in IT and ability to present information concisely.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and positive leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate of Higher Education.
  • Experience in quality assurance for at least 2 years.
