Hopetoun Bar and Bistro are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in supporting the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring that we deliver exceptional service and high-quality food to our guests. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality and food production, with a passion for culinary excellence and team management. The role will primarily be weekend work, with the occasion of covering midweek shifts for holidays and absences.

Duties:

  • Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring smooth service and adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitor online booking systems and monitor staff shifts accordingly.
  • Help manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed while minimising waste.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, striving to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Train and mentor new staff and existing staff to company policy guidelines and standards.
  • Handle cash, POS Systems and end of day financial procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry, in a restaurant setting.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations and supervising staff.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in culinary environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • A passion for the culinary arts and a commitment to delivering outstanding dining experiences.

Employees will receive weekly cash tips and discount at all of our sister venue restaurants (Bathgate golf club & Uphall golf club). Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £13.00 – £15.00 per hour
