The Role
- 4-on 4-off Days (Days only)
- Working with raw materials, testing, weighing, mixing and issuing products to the next stage of production.
- Ensuring a safe and an efficient operation in achieving production targets.
- Inform managers/supervisors of stock issues so decisions can be made to minimise effects on customer orders, production efficiency and future production planning.
- Schedule production tasks effectively to meet production timelines.
- Communicate with the planning department and other support functions to ensure the plan is followed and areas of concern are highlighted.
- Ensure expected product yields are met and corrective actions are taken for low yielding products.
- Control stock and ensure accuracy of stock in production areas.
- Undertake stock checks.
- Ensure SOPs and process cleaning is taking place at the right times.
- Maintain high standards of GMP & BRC compliance in all aspects of production.
- Exhibit a good awareness of COSHH, risk assessment, Food Hygiene, and PPE requirements.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to Hygiene, HACCP, and Quality and ensure all relevant regulations are met.
- Contribute to an excellent safety culture, with regard to manual handling, PPE, accident/incident reporting.
- Assist the business as it goes through a programme to improve its stock system over the next 6 months.
- Take part in regular one-to-ones with line Manager to discuss personal development plan and identify opportunities for training and development.
The Person

- Physically fit, able to work with 25kg bags of product.
- Self-motivated, a can-do attitude with a pro-active hands-on approach to all tasks.
- Production experience within Food Manufacturing, Process Industry, Chemical, Plastics, Polymers, Packaging, Pulp & Paper, Textiles, Cosmetics, Agrochemicals, Coatings, FMCG etc.
- Excellent attention to detail, able to identify, measure and mix product in the right quantities.
- Have strong relationship building skills.
- Experience of working within a LEAN environment is advantageous.
- Applicants should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
