Our Clandeboye Transport Depot is Fonterraâs largest Transport team, home to our whanau of 255 drivers manning 73 trucks. At peak, the team collects and moves up to 19 million litres of milk and milk products from our farmer shareholders spanning from the Lower Waitaki region through to North Canterbury.
Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for operations and transport? Weâre looking for a Depot Manager to take charge of our busy depot, driving performance, safety, and team engagement. As Depot Manager, youâll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Clandeboye Transport depot, ensuring efficient operations, high service standards, and a motivated team. Youâll play a key role in delivering world-class asset care, utilisation, best-in-class transport operation, and supporting strategic growth.
This role involves leading and engaging a large team of 5 direct and up to 250 indirect reports, including team managers, operations assistants, and tanker operators. Responsibilities include ensuring quality, health and safety of the team, and meeting long-term business objectives. You will foster a sense of belonging and morale through effective coaching and management. The role offers exposure to managing Fonterra's largest and most critical transport regions, working closely with other Depot Managers and developing strong relationships inside and outside Fonterra.
Reporting to the Site Operations Manager, you will be a key member of the site leadership team, contributing to business metrics through enhancing capabilities of people and processes.
To succeed, youâll be an experienced Depot or Transport Manager, or from a similar large leadership role. You should be an inspirational leader with a passion for people and culture, capable of building a high-performing team and providing innovative solutions in a busy, complex environment. Experience in transport, logistics, or manufacturing, and a focus on safety are preferred.
