Process & Packing Operators - Clandeboye - Fixed term in Canterbury

Our Clandeboye site is Fonterra’s largest manufacturing site, with 11 plants processing, at peak up to 13 million litres of milk per day through some of the biggest dryers in the world. We employ over 1,200 people across the value stream all bringing a diverse range of skills, expertise and thought to our operation.

We’re currently seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our team as Process & Packing Operators. Working on a rostered shift pattern you will be aligned to one of our processing plants in either the control room or on the factory floor with your key responsibilities being:

• Setting up, checking and running automated production machinery safely and efficiently
• Performing quality checks to ensure production meets world class standards
• Running production processes and machine diagnostics to ensure quality standards are met
• Ensuring documentation is correct and complete
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area and ensuring all health, safety and quality procedures are followed at all times

These roles are a fantastic opportunity if you are serious about advancing your career and gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced production environment with the support of a highly motivated and engaged work whanau. These positions offer fantastic work-life balance, working a rotating rostered shift pattern of 2 x 12-hour day shifts, 2 x 12-hour night shifts, followed by 4 rostered days off.

Your strong mechanical aptitude, planning and sound problem-solving skills will ensure things run smoothly - you won’t just find the problem, you'll be part of finding and implementing the solution. Together with a good work ethic and a strong focus on health and safety, you’ll be physically fit and able to show a background of:

• Participating as a team player with a positive attitude
• Quality control and CCP monitoring
• Strong attention to details and the ability to follow instructions
• Good physical stamina and the ability to work on your feet
• Operating touch screen machinery
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is desirable
• Operating a Forklift with a current F and OSH would be helpful, but not essential
