Our Clandeboye site is Fonterra’s largest manufacturing site, with 11 plants processing, at peak up to 13 million litres of milk per day through some of the biggest dryers & innovative plants in the world. We employ over 1,200 people across the value stream all bringing a diverse range of skills, expertise and thought to our operation.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Compliance & Quality Specialist to join our Mozarella Cheese teams to deliver outstanding results in our manufacturing operations. You will provide a key role supporting the management and operational teams in a day-to-day capacity to meet and optimise operational targets, support regulatory requirements, processes and administrative systems, and enhance our functional relationships both internally and externally. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone seeking to extend their manufacturing and product capability and knowledge, joining a supportive, collaborative, and high performing team who work together to deliver high quality products to our customers.

In this varied role, your key responsibilities include:

  • Support Improvement Project activity including management of Snaglists, Concept documents, e-changes.
  • Attend Business Management Meetings and contribute to close out of actions at all SDS, DDS, WMS and WDS levels.
  • Support and train plant staff in Pre-campaign preparation meetings in conjunction with the Process Manager.
  • Manage risk associated with FSQ & H&S processes including audit and corrective action completion, CIP audits, risk assessment, extra testing, on-hold product inspection, quality IPS and UPS and help (when required) to manage and resolve any customer complaints.
  • Support Food Safety & Quality and Customer Audits.
  • Contribute to and coach operational teams on one point lessons and SOP’s.
  • Ensure the company’s Health, Safety and Environment requirements are adhered to.

This position works Monday to Friday days.

We are looking for a motivated individual with a keen drive for results and implementing change. Your sound understanding of managing compliance from a food safety or manufacturing background will see you being able to confidently coordinate all relevant compliance requirements as well as work on department documentation and training accountabilities to support the team to the highest possible standard. A can-do attitude and willingness to go the extra mile when dealing with a variety of stakeholders is essential to succeed in this varied role.

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience or an understanding of process improvement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills- oral and written.
  • A people person who is not afraid to engage with a multitude of stakeholders.
  • Experience from within a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
