Gadgets4UK is looking to hire a skilled Web Designer to design and build attractive, high-performing websites for us. You'll handle both back-end and front-end development, including custom themes and third-party integrations, and ongoing security maintenance.
The ideal candidate has a strong eye for design, solid front-end programming skills, and a good grasp of content management systems. You'll work closely with clients to translate their requirements into polished, user-friendly websites that meet both design and functional expectations.
Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to understand website design and functionality requirements
- Design and build responsive website front-ends
- Plan and structure website architecture
- Manage the website back-end, including database and server integration
- Develop custom Website themes
- Run performance tests and optimise site speed
- Troubleshoot and resolve content and functionality issues
- Monitor the performance of live websites and apply updates as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Proven work experience as a Website Designer
- Familiarity with version control tools, particularly Git
- Experience using debugging tools such as Chrome DevTools or similar
- Solid understanding of website architecture, UX, and visual design principles
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
