About FOMO Rentals
FOMO Rentals is a camera, lighting, and audio equipment rental house based in Shoreditch. We are a young, dynamic team of filmmakers passionate about supporting the UK’s creative industry. Our offering goes beyond just kit and competitive prices; we bring real-world experience, expertly prepared and maintained gear, genuine enthusiasm, and a shared love for filmmaking. We are also home to FOMO House, the UK's first filmmaking clubhouse and community space where we host kit workshops, events, and provide mentorship to emerging filmmakers.
The Role
We’re looking for a Camera, Lens and Lighting Technician (Film and TV) to join us at FOMO. This is a hands-on role at the heart of our day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for maintaining and preparing equipment, supporting clients with their technical needs, and helping us deliver the reliable, high-quality service we’re known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Extensive preparing, testing, and packing equipment for client projects
- Diagnosing equipment issues
- Logging and organising the repair of damaged equipment
- Maintaining the organisation and cleanliness of the kit room
- Recommending new products and technologies
- Advising clients on technical setups and gear choices
- Assisting with customer crews, for preps and tests
Who You Are
- Self-motivated, diligent, and detail-oriented
- A fast learner with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Confident working under pressure and handling last-minute changes
- Technically knowledgeable about professional camera systems and accessories — including ARRI, RED, Sony, Canon, Aputure, etc.
- Comfortable communicating with clients and offering informed technical advice
- Ideally 1+ year of experience in a rental house, or 2+ years in a technical role on film/TV productions (Assistant camera etc)
What We Offer
- Free use of FOMO kit for personal projects
- A supportive and creative environment that values initiative
- Work at the heart of London’s filmmaking scene – not a warehouse on an industrial estate, but a dynamic, central hub buzzing with filmmakers, creatives, and events.
- Opportunities to grow through training, workshops and industry events
- Performance bonus in the form of EMI share options – a tax-efficient way to share in the future success of the business.
