The Boiler Engineer will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, inspection, and maintenance of commercial boilers and associated plant systems including small plumbing works, in the Greater Suffolk Area. This full-time mobile service engineer position includes diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and ensuring safe and efficient boiler performance in line with relevant regulations and company standards.
Daily tasks involve working with power, conducting routine checks, documenting service activities, and coordinating with other engineers and site personnel. The Boiler Engineer will also support system upgrades, participate in safety briefings, and provide technical input during project planning and handover. The role requires adherence to all health, safety, and environmental procedures and clear communication with clients and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience working with condensate return and pressure control.
- Background in Electrical Engineering, with the ability to interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematics related to boiler plant.
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or boiler engineering; Gas Safe Registered.
- A Full DBS Check will be carried out to ensure the ability to work in schools.
- Full UK Driving Licence must be held.
- Demonstrated experience in boiler installation, maintenance, and fault-finding in industrial, commercial, or large residential settings.
- Solid understanding of UK safety standards, pressure systems regulations, and permit-to-work procedures.
- Ability to work safely on-site, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly with clients, contractors, and team members.
