Nettlestead & Wateringbury Preschool and Out of Schools Club are looking to recruit an enthusiastic L3 Early Years Practitioner. You will be responsible for a number of key children, keeping their learning records up to date and liaising with the parents, staff and committee in order to provide the best outcome for the children.
Whilst staff have set hours, hours may vary with the needs of the setting. We are open Monday to Friday, offering wrap around care. Our opening hours are 07:30 – 18:00, so flexibility is essential.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation Offenders Act (1974) and subject to ongoing vetting procedures required in line with legislation.
The position is subject to satisfactory references and a 6-month probationary period.
Applicants must:
- Hold a relevant and full L3 qualification.
- Have a passion for working with young children.
- Be prepared to work on a flexible basis.
- Have a willingness to train and learn.
- Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the children at all times.
Applicants ideally:
- Have an in-depth knowledge of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), child development and the ‘characteristics of effective learning’ and teaching to support young children\’s overall development.
- Experience of working with young children and families.
Main duties/job description;
- To help set up the playroom for and during the session, ready for daily activities and to help tidy away at the end of the session.
- To advise the Manager/Deputy of any concerns, e.g. health, safety or safeguarding concerns and ensure confidentiality.
- To act as a key person and record observations on the children.
- To assist with curriculum planning.
- To attend appropriate qualification and training courses as required.
- To attend staff meetings.
- To keep confidential information regarding the children and their families which may be discovered through their job.
- To ensure all policies, procedures and curriculums are implemented and adhered to at all times
- To keep abreast of current early childhood thinking/trends.
