Folk Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a fantastic, fast-growing tech business based near York to recruit an experienced Senior HR Advisor. This is not a sit-on-the-sidelines HR role. This is a hands-on, broad, commercially focused HR generalist opportunity where you'll partner closely with managers, build real capability across the business, and work alongside an inspiring HR leader who genuinely invests in their team.

If you love employee relations, enjoy coaching managers through tricky conversations, and want to make a visible impact in a people-first tech organisation this could be your perfect next move. Their culture is collaborative, forward-thinking and supportive. You'll be joining a business that genuinely values its people and recognises HR as a true commercial partner.

This is a broad HR generalist role with a strong emphasis on employee relations and building manager capability. You'll partner with managers on complex ER matters including performance, disciplinaries (up to dismissal), investigations, probation and absence management, ensuring fairness, consistency and compliance throughout. You'll manage Occupational Health referrals, support hearings, and produce clear, accurate documentation.

Alongside reviewing and embedding HR policies, you'll identify process improvements and deliver training to strengthen manager confidence. A key part of the role is coaching leaders through sometimes tough but necessary conversations, helping them handle people matters with clarity and confidence. You'll also contribute to wider HR activity including onboarding, engagement, annual cycles and organisational change.

You'll work closely with an impressive and supportive HR leader within a growing business where your contribution will be visible and valued. We're looking for a confident HR generalist with CIPD Level 5 (or working towards), strong employment law knowledge and proven experience managing complex ER cases independently. You'll be comfortable influencing stakeholders, be highly organised, commercially aware and confident using HR systems (Dayforce desirable). Tech sector experience would be a bonus.

If you're looking for a role where you can combine commercial thinking, people expertise and real influence all while working with a supportive HR leader in a growing tech business we'd love to hear from you.
